This just gets better to me with each reading. I pick out new little details every time I read it. Things like how clipped Perceptor's albeit already brief diction gets when he's nervous, and that bit about Drift conceding to Perceptor's condition with that little expression? Awesome. (and I totally agree with Drift: Perceptor *is* adorkable when he does stuff like that)
As for the hotness factor? I'm biased, but I think it's really, REALLY sexy. Your descriptions always *get* to me anyway, but the way you describe everything here, the way Perceptor looks at Drift with a sudden new awareness... guh. It's not just the physics and mechanics and descriptiveness of that that makes it so hot to me, but the way you describe their *responses* to everything.
