all fanfiction's sort of self-indulgent, isn't it? Oh heck yeah. It's pretty fun to have space to do that, just to play with things and do what you want, whatever you want. If something appeals to you then there are probably others who dig it too, so hey! :D With the usual caveat about probably being careful about where one posts particular things. Smurf stories maybe not going to get as positive a reaction on a G1 TF forum/comm... XD
Anyway. I think there's enough "story" in surrounding canon - it's these little personal glimpses, the sheer characterization that we almost NEVER get, that some of us are hungry for. That a lot of us write/read fic FOR. So scene away! <3
