I just thought that you should know I scared the hell out of my youngest cat when Max entered. I remembered him even before you mentioned in context that he knew Starscream (and dear god, does that sound stalker-fangirly? That I remember a story I read months ago and reread regularly?) and squealed out loud.... and then Boo took off at a dead run to get away from Crazy Mommy. Oh yeah, I fangirl enough to scare my cats.
That said, excellent chapter! I love how Cade's reflecting that even now he's sort-of sabotaging the enemy. Poor, poor Cade. *needs a Starscream/Barricade icon, but the Sixshot/Cliffjumper icon needs a workout*
