I'm always painfully -- if lovingly -- reminded of my grandfather's Alzheimer's when I read your Mindwipe. (This is a good thing. I was young and my memories of my own feelings are ones of frustration.) You're awesome at getting the patience and care it would take across in the language and behavior.

My favorite line: Like he was beginning, finally, to matter. He knew it wasn’t true, of course, but even so, it counted. Oooooh. Oh, the resignation, the dull frustration, the acceptance, all in two sentences.
